Rockford, IL – The 2010 Nielsen ratings book is official, and The Michael Koolidge Show (www.koolidge.com) is number one in its time slot, beating all other Rockford-based talk shows in every key demographic.
“I’ve been doing this gig for four straight years now and while we always knew we had a strong online presence, this is the first actual scientific measurement of my audience in a rated radio market," says Koolidge. "That I have an audience beyond my wife and mom is encouraging. That I’m #1 is, well, shocking, to be honest -- but I’ll take it! In all seriousness, my early affiliates and advertisers have taken a giant leap of faith with this show over the years, and I'd like to think this helps justify their decision.”
According to Nielsen’s most recent radio ratings book, The Michael Koolidge Show (TMKS), airing on 1440 WROK from 10-11am every Tuesday through Friday, beats Rockford’s WNTA 10-11am block in every key demographic breakdown, including all people 18+ (3.8 share vs. WNTA’s 3.2 share), men 25-54 (3.0 to 2.4), men 55+ (7.3 to 5.8) and women 35-64 (2.8 to 2.4). This is the first ratings book released since WROK added The Michael Koolidge Show to its daily lineup in January of 2010. Last year, WROK beat WNTA in all hours of the day except for the 10 to 11am time slot.

The Michael Koolidge Show began on News/Talk 1060 WRHL out of Rochelle/North Central Illinois in the Spring of 2006, where it still airs at 5PM every weeknight. After independent syndication it was picked up on 1360 WLBK out of DeKalb/Western Chicagoland in January of 2008 (6PM most weeknights), and two years later added 1440 WROK (10AM Tuesday through Friday) in Illinois’s second largest radio market after Chicago, Rockford. largest radio station affiliate, 1440 WROK AM in Rockford, IL
beginning Tuesday, January 5th, 2010. The show will run at 10:00am

Phoenix, AZ - From March 15 through March 25, 2009, The Michael Koolidge Show (TMKS) traveled to Arizona to cover Major League Baseball Spring Training Cactus League action for both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox at their respective pre-season complexes in the Phoenix area.
TMKS conducted one-on-one interviews with White Sox sluggers Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome, along with Cubs pitcher Chad Gaudin, and was able to speak with perennial all-star Alfonso Soriano, White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, and Cubs skipper Lou Piniella. DeKalb, IL – The Michael Koolidge Show (TMKS), a regionally syndicated daily radio program heard on three stations in Chicagoland, will now feature a biweekly interview with members of the Armed Services on the ground in Afghanistan. The first interview was with U.S. Army Major Pat Seiber stationed in the Khowst Province and is available in its entirety on www.koolidge.com under "Audio Archives." The Michael Koolidge Show is already the only program in the nation that speaks regularly with a soldier in Baghdad, Iraq, talking weekly with three separate officers since the fall of 2006.

7:52: "I had the Speaker of the Armenian House come to visit me. We had a long talk about this issue. This is not a big issue in Armenia. Its a big issue here, where people keep this thing constantly riled up, whether you happen to be a Greek and don't like the Turks, or you happen to be an Armenian and don't like the Turks. Its a way that people raise money here."
10:21: "The Turkish Border is something that we cannot have destabilized. You know, its an interesting time...when Osama Bin Laden is criticizing Al Qaeda cause they're not getting the job done, it means that WE are getting OUR job done, and if we want to help [Al Qeada], help them emotionally, and give them a lift, destabilize what we [the U.S.] is able to do, then this Turkey resolution does exactly that."
11:05: "I think Speaker Pelosi expressed very well, that this is an important issue to her, probably politically, and there's another political issue, and that is to hurt the Administration. So, I don't think she's accepting common sense. We've back-channeled that (as a former Speaker, giving Pelosi advice NOT to do this), they understand that, they know it very well, her aides know what we've done....she's going to do what she wants to do. And she has her own agenda. Just like meeting with the head of Syria and other places, she has an agenda."
12:25: "What I tried to do...I tried to bring the Turks and Armenians together...and they're doing some of that, and that's good between those two countries. It's the people back here who want to keep these thing stirred up, and that's the tragedy of it."
He did not indicate whether he will be remaining or resigning as U.S. representative from the IL-14th congressional district.
